Caring for your Zedbed mattress

You've invested considerable time and money in selecting your new mattress. Now it's important to protect your investment and maintain its high level of performance. Here are some valuable mattress care tips from the experts at Zedbed:

  • Use a waterproof mattress protector that covers at least five of your Zedbed's six sides. Choosing a lightweight style will let you get the most out of the memory foam's performance and allow air to circulate for a cooler sleeping surface. Zedbed recommends Fabrictech mattress covers.
  • Don't flip the mattress—its nonskid surface must always be on the bottom, in contact with the platform or foundation surface. Zedbed does recommend rotating the mattress horizontally, if needed, so the head and foot alternate.
  • Never use stain-removal products of any type to clean your Zedbed mattress or pillows.
  • Keep liquids away from your mattress—moisture can damage memory foam. This applies to Zedbed pillows, too.
  • Avoid exposing the mattress directly to sunlight. Memory foam is sensitive to temperature fluctuations.
  • If you store the mattress, lay it flat, not in a vertical position.
  • If you must move the mattress while it is not at room temperature, be careful not to bend it.
  • Use your mattress the way it was intended: to support your body in a horizontal position. Don't sit on the edge of the mattress too often or for long periods.
  • Your mattress should be kept in the right conditions: make sure the humidity isn't too high and room temperatures aren't too hot (over 40ᵒ C./104ᵒ F.) or too cold (under 10ᵒ C./50ᵒ F.).
  • Make sure the bed has sufficient support or a rigid foundation so you will get the most out of your mattress. We recommend using a Zedbed foundation.
